When a week goes by without me checking off a list item, I sometimes wonder if I really put forth enough effort during those seven days.  I think about what I could have done during the moments when I was sitting on the couch, glued to the television during an episode of “Locked Up Abroad”.  Quick sidenote- if you haven’t seen this show about stupid Americans who agree to smuggle drugs out of a South American country and then get caught at the airport when their suitcase full of coke shockingly gets searched, you are missing out.  Just saying.

Anyway, I have these moments when I’m disappointed in myself that I let a perfectly good opportunity to work on my list pass me by.  This week, however, was not one of those weeks.  Not only did I actively work towards completing several items on my list, I actually crossed one off!  So here’s a brief overview of the week and another edition of Follow-Up Friday.

Monday: For those who didn’t remember, Monday was Valentine’s Day (and if you’re a guy and didn’t remember, you’re probably not reading this because you’re probably dead).  No attempt was made at the list because this day was about the wifey and not me.  (Psssst…that’s what we’re supposed to say, right guys?)

Tuesday: #26 was officially crossed off.  If you haven’t read my review of our night at Charleston, what are you waiting for?  Sidenote- the 6 course meal that I devoured probably didn’t help with #3 on my list.

Wednesday: Guitar lesson #2 with the man, Scott Spivey.  Learned how to use a metronome to play chords faster and how to use humor to help get you out of a ticket.  Thanks Scott!

Thursday: Filed our taxes.  While this may not seem like it directly affects any items on my list, the fact that we will be receiving a refund may come in handy.

I’d say that constitutes a fairly successful week.  Here are a few more updates to the list.

#13I think I’ve been giving this one a bad rap so far.  Don’t get me wrong, the story is good.  The characters are developing.  It’s just a slow read.  Almost cracked the 100 page mark though this week and I’ve finally been introduced to the title character.  Way to string me along there Mr. Tolstoy.

#18After bringing home the signed menu from Charleston on Tuesday night, I thought about counting that towards completion of this item.  Then I realized I had specifically stated that I wanted to get a piece of sports memorabilia signed.  Now, since I’m not registered with the IFOCE (International Federation of Competitive Eating), I don’t think my dinner counts as a sport.

#20I continue to reach out to The Sports Guy and other local television and radio hosts in an effort to get my blog into the public eye.  No response from Mr. Simmons as of yet, however fake Bill Simmons continues to post comments on my page.

So that’s it for this week’s edition of Follow-Up Friday.  Keep sending me comments and ideas for #30 on my list and keep bugging your friends and family to subscribe.  They’ll probably regret it in the end, but I’ll appreciate it!  Have a great weekend everyone.
